Final Journey
Our journey is coming to an end at UT Texas University. We are going home next Thursday, on August 8th. It was an amazing experience, as we had several classes with various methods and different teachers. Each teacher prepared unique exercises and lessons for us. The Grammar teacher, Eric prepared a mix of grammar and games in a dynamic way to teach the content and also suggested numerous procedures that we can apply in our classes with our students. He used lessons from the English File book and materials that allowed us to produce several games and activities to teach the English language. We reviewed some concepts of methods and SLA theories with Jennifer and Megan. Fotini improved our reading and writing skills through a variety of texts and activities. Curt challenged us in pronunciation. In his classes, we reviewed many phonetics and phonology concepts. Additionally, Sarah and Kelly introduced us to numerous apps to teach English and the four linguistic skills. Ellen taught us about the American culture, and in her classes, we practiced English speaking, by talking to the ambassadors. Furthermore, we also watched some interesting lectures.
In this country, we visited amazing places and tried different foods. I also attended the Austin Catholic Church on Sundays and experienced the mass in English. I even helped serve last Sunday by offering the bread of God to the priest. I won't forget the experience of riding a scooter. Thank you so much for such a great opportunity. I wish my mother were alive to see me conquering the world. I must thank all the teachers and UT University. Most importantly, I thank God for the amazing time I had here in Texas.
